Be that women for your self. Be that woman for your child. Be that woman for your partner, your community, for your future. When you shine your light, it illuminates the way for others to stand in their courage, too. Please, PLEASE shine your light, sister. Amen.

No matter how big my goals, I've got to remember that my priority is holy wellness and that requires much more self-love and self-compassion so that I may model that for those I love. Each time we model for others, it gives them the opportunity to reflect what they see and experience.

Before you begin, a trigger warning. This is written with the white birth worker in mind, for those who are earnest, yet perhaps green in their allyship and activism; this is for those who need to muster up the courage and action to utilize their position of privilege. Lastly, as terrible as it feels to acknowledge our complicity in a system of oppression, we, white women, who seek peace on earth by working in the birth world need to step up.
